How well does your dog fare in the backseat of your car?

File_33.jpeg

I love my dogs, and after I die, if (I hope!) I go to heaven, I just have to see my dog there too! Won't it be sad to imagine that we live on after we die, and our faithful friends and loyal buddies can't follow us as well?

PALS

You see us every morning,
A common pair are we,
Each on a leash's ending
My little dog and me.
We amble village byways
In bright or dismal weather;
You may not think there's much in that,
But we have fun together.

No many-stranded cable
Could bear the jokes that pass
Between my little comrade
And me -- my! how we sass!
But how we give assurance
That we don't really mean it!
(A dog-and-man companionship
Is balm to him who's seen it.)

He greets his dog friends gayly,
While I to neighbors speak;
He sometimes finds a treasure --
A bone that's lost its meat!
He talks with dogs or children,
While I swap views with master . . .
I had this thought the other day,
While visiting with Pastor.

"When dog and I have rambled on
Beyond this mundane scope,
And seen the Golden Gateway,
(From the inside, we hope!)
We won't pause on the highway
Made smooth for feet more sainted,
But wander down some quiet land,
And start to get acquainted.

We hope there'll be a hydrant,
A friendly tree or two,
Some drying leaves to shuffle,
A field to wander through.
We'll glory in our freedom,
And need no leash of leather;
It really will be Heaven, Lord,
As long as we're together."

Happy Wordless Wednesday!

Each Tuesday we will share a photo we received claiming to be the World's Largest Dog. A lot of you might have seen these photos. We couldn't verify the source so we leave it up to you to believe it or not. Photoshop can make look anything big. Let us know what you think. Have you seen any of these dogs in person? Do you have a photo that you want to share with us?

4) The Largest Irish Wolfhound:
This week's featured largest dog is an Irish Wolfhound again - just like last week. Again, I have a feeling that this photo is real and the photographer picked a very good angle, which makes the dogs look larger. The dogs are in front of the camera while the little old lady sits on the couch in the background as a comparison.

Real or fake, what do you think?

Don't forget to check back next week!

Look at this little fellow! His bravado fails to impress the badass cat who looks right into his innocent soul, and know that he won't hurt a fly!

The beautiful daughter of Donald Trump owns a Yorkshire Terrier. They have a very playful nature, and are the second most popular breed in the US after the Labrador Retriever. They are not noted for 'Alpha' male behavior and relate very well with other dogs. This is an advantage if you are looking for a second or third dog for your home.

Dog owners know that they love to dig. If you don't have a carefully tended garden, you may enjoy watching her do this, but for some people, digging can really ruin their lawns.

To control this, try cordoning off an area for your dog where you can leave her when you go out. Fill this area with fresh dirt, so she can dig all she wants without spoiling the rest of the lawn. You can put cement blocks around the area to ensure that she doesn't get out.

Over time, she will come to understand that that area is hers and she can dig to her heart's content.

As an estimate of how much people love their dogs, over 1 million of them are slated to inherit all their master's wealth when their owners pass on!

After all, they're family right?
