The litterbox consists of an open kitty litter pan, and some kitty litter. We built the " poophouse" cover out of OSB board ,very inexpensive, and easy to cut with hand tools.
One suggestion I might add for anyone who is thinking on training for a litter box....start out right from the beginning with NON clumping kitty litter ( less messy on the fur ) we have found one thing..Yorkies are very fussy and if you change things they get up tight and stubborn. We used CLUMPING kitty litter, and if wet sticks to the fur, we tried to change it to NON clumping, and Ireland let us know straight away that we had done a bad thing...so we are back to clumping kitty litter, and baby wipes for the feet if they get dirty.
He arrived VERY early morning from Hungary, but was bright eyed and happy to have " Mom & Dad " there to pick him up and greeted us with kisses.
Thank you to Eddie and Europuppy for helping us find our special family member.
If you own a Yorkshire Terrier already then you know the joys that come with them, and the endless shopping sprees to spoil them with Yorkie accessories such as plush beds, leashes, matching harnesses and collars, sweaters, coats, hairbows, and toys...We have only had our baby Ireland 1 week, and the shopping sprees seem to be endless. But Ireland is always greatful, and we were prepared mentally and financially for the burden and responsibly of a Yorkie.
Caring for a Yorkie takes time, patience, understanding, love and money. But in the end I think it will be all worth it as even now our puppy shows us respect and love in return, and is always wanting to please. We have tryed to get our hands on every book possible in regards to this breed, and are learning that if you give love and attention they will give back 10 fold. There is nothing more lovable then a Yorkshire puppy
Our Yorkie Ireland has stolen our heart, and possibly is going to rob us of our senses lol lol he is a dynamic diminutive puppy, and has shown us already the small actually means really big: big attitude, big dog in a tiny package, big responsiblity and big investements of emotion, time, and money. So please dont buy a Yorkie if you can't commit 100% to thier needs.
