Every week Euro Puppy portrays 2 dog lamps. Is one wacky and the other one tacky? Are both wacky? Or both tacky? We will leave it up to you to decide. While having our own beliefs about them, we would love your comments...are they wacky or tacky? Enjoy....

Dog Lamp # 1: Well....this lamp is called: "Goebel Red Dog Perfume Lamp with Glass Eyes". It is made of translucent porcelain. Both the dog and his eyes have a warm, magical glow when the light is turned on. ( no sarcasm intended of course!) He has a circle of holes in the top of his head for the heat of the bulb to escape so that he won't crack. There is a small reservoir on the back of his neck where perfume was placed. The heat of the lamp warmed the perfume and gently spread the desired fragrance into the air. Perfume lamps were popular in the 1920's and 1930's and came in many shapes and sizes... a forerunner of the air freshener, but infinitely more romantic! The cord has an old style, blimp shaped, in-line bakelite switch. He is a little treasure that could (possibly) be the perfect highlight in a romantic or exotic boudoir!

Dog lamp # 2: This Pug Dog Table Lamp is from Judith Edwards Designs. It features a pug statue in a classic bronze finish with decorative wood style base accenting the bottom. A faux leather shade adds a soft glow to your decor. It has a classic bronze finish.

So? Wacky or tacky? What do you think dear Dog lover?

Comments

You have stolen these photos of the Goebel red dog from our findgreatstuff web site and are using them to bring traffic to your own site. Now that really is tacky. We ask you to take them down and use your own photographs.
